Source: International Journal of Infectious Diseases Highlights As of May27, 2020 there are over 1,678,843 confirmed cases of COVID-19 claiming more than 100,000 lives in the Unites States. Currently there is no known effective therapy or vaccine. According to a protocol-based treatment algorithm, among hospitalized patients, use of hydroxychloroquine alone and in combination with azithromycin […]

In this study of over 6000 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in the New York City, hydroxychloroquine use was associated with decreased mortality.

The UK medicines agency has given the green light to resume a clinical trial of hydroxychloroquine to prevent Covid-19.

Source: Global Research by Dr. Meryl Nass It is remarkable that a series of events taking place over the past 3 months produced a unified message about hydroxychloroquine, and produced similar policies about the drug in the US, Canada, Australia, NZ and western Europe. The message is that generic, inexpensive hydroxychloroquine is dangerous and should not be […]

Our data suggest that chronic treatment with HCQ confer protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

No life-threatening modifications of the QT interval was observed in non-severe COVID-19 patients treated ambulatory with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. Studies are needed in critical-ill and older patients.

The clinical trials on this list are studying Hydroxychloroquine. All trials on the list are supported by NCI.

Hydroxychloroquine has not stopped being the subject of many conversations. 27 Brazilian researchers are now facing legal charges for a overdose that resulted in the deaths of 11 patients […]

Source: Science Direct Background In our institute in Marseille, France, we initiated early and massive screening for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Hospitalization and early treatment with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin (HCQ-AZ) was proposed for the positive cases. Methods We retrospectively report the clinical management of 3,737 screened patients, including 3,119 (83.5%) treated with HCQ-AZ (200 mg of […]

Source: BioRxiv The pandemic coronavirus COVID-19 affected global health from the end of 2019 to 2020 and may challenge global health in the future. There have been reports of Chloroquine (CQ) and Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) used in clinical treatment. In our study, we used CCK-8 stain, flow cytometry and immunofluorescent stain to evaluated the toxicity and […]

This study provides evidence that (hydroxy)chloroquine may be used effectively in treating moderate COVID-19 and supports larger trials.

This represents a 25% relative increase in the likelihood of being discharged from hospital, the study said.

Conclusions: In subjects free of COVID-19, we found a small increase in QTc associated with use of chloroquine, but not hydroxychloroquine. We found no increased mortality associated with use of hydroxychloroquine.

This study provides evidence that (hydroxy)chloroquine may be used effectively in treating moderate COVID-19 and supports larger trials.

It treats patients in the initial phase, if the patient is medicated at the very beginning of the symptoms, the disease may not reach the acute phase, where the use of respirators is necessary.

“As far as prophylaxis is concerned, more than 4,300 doctors and health works were given HCQ as approved by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) out of which around 45 health persons tested positive and recovered later,”

Significantly higher rates of discharge home were observed in patients treated by HCQ, a novel finding warranting further confirmation in replicative studies.

How can we trust the established authorities or prestigious journals when, in this perilous time, trials of an available, inexpensive, long-established drug appear to be designed to fail, while risking the lives of their subjects through deliberate or negligent drug overdoses?

A Sungai Buloh Hospital clinician also described the controversial antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, as an anchor during the peak of the Covid-19 crisis in Malaysia.

The hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) arm of the trials had been stopped after publication of the Lancet Surgisphere study, which claimed that patients who received hydroxychloroquine had 35% higher death rates, but the Lancet study was retracted 13 days after publication, as its data turned out to be fabricated.

It is not affected by the FDA’s decision today, and there is no evidence that the use of hydroxychloroquine as a potential prophylaxis presents a health risk in that setting.

The study, which was obviously flawed on its face (I commented well before it was exposed that the groupings made no sense), turned out to be produced by a shell company, with unverified data gathered by non-scientists.

India’s ICMR, its official medical research agency, had written to the WHO, telling WHO that the hydroxychloroquine doses being used in the Solidarity trial were 4 times higher than the doses being used in India.

None of the patients died in the studied period and only 6 have to be admitted in conventional hospitalization area.

Source: MedRxiv Abstract Background: While several trials are ongoing for treatment of COVID-19, scientific research on chemoprophylaxis is still lacking even though it has potential to delay the pandemic allowing us time to complete research on vaccines. Preface: On May 22, The Lancet published a study of 96,000 COVID-19 patients stating Hydroxychloroquine had no value in treating COVID-19 and even suggested increased risk of mortality. Literally dozens of studies around the globe, and significant evidence (in the thousands) that is still oddly being referred to as anecdotal, suggest strongly that HCQ has […]

On the 25th of May 2020, the World Health Organisation halted hyrdoxychloroquine trials globally within 72 hours of sighting a publication in the Lancet. They advised countries to do the same. The Lancet’s publication immediately came under severe scrutiny from the many of the world’s top doctors and universities of medicine, as well as various […]
