Following protocols established by fellow doctor Marina Bucar Barjud , who lives in Madrid, scientific coordinator of the University of Zaragoza, in Spain, doctors at the Regional Hospital Tibério Nunes, in Floriano, interior of Piauí, saved eight patients from the coronavirus with the application of an efficient cocktail based on hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and corticoids in the early stages of the symptoms of the disease.

According to the oncologist Sabas Vieira, with a rapid positive evolution of the clinical conditions after application of the drugs, none of the people had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
