The Ministry of Health will receive humanitarian aid, namely medicines with the active substance Hydroxychloroquine, included in the national treatment protocol COVID-19. Sanofi and Sandoz will deliver 320,000 tablets of this medicine to Ukraine, which is designed to treat over 22,000 patients.

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov has informed about it.

“The Ministry of Health is doing its best to combat the coronavirus as effectively as possible. Therefore, we have asked manufacturers to provide us with humanitarian assistance. This amount will be enough to treat over 22,000 patients with COVID-19, ”

It should be noted that Plaquenil medication of Sanofi company (with active ingredient Hydroxychloroquine) is already distributed between the structural units for health care of the regional state administrations and Kiev with the subsequent admission to the first-wave healthcare institutions for receiving patients coronavirus infection. Delivery and distribution of Sandoz Hydroxychloroquine is expected early next week.

“This drug is prescribed in our protocol for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and is used for severe patients only in hospital settings, as well as under the close supervision of doctors and with the written consent of patients. It will be free of charge for those patients who really need it for medical reasons, ”
